Premyer Liqa 2026/27: table, fixtures and results

The Azerbaijan Premier League, sponsored as the Misli Premyer Liqası, is the top tier of football in Azerbaijan. It is run by the Professional Football League of Azerbaijan and is contested by 12 clubs. Teams meet each other three times over a season running from late summer to spring, so every club plays 33 matches.

The champions enter the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League, while the next clubs in the table and the Azerbaijan Cup winners enter qualifying for the other UEFA club competitions. The clubs at the bottom of the table face relegation to the First League, with the best sides from that division moving up.

The league has been played since 1992, the first season after independence. Qarabag are the most successful club in its history, followed by Neftchi Baku, and matches between the two are the biggest fixtures of the season. This season, 2026/27, opened on 7 August 2026, with the final round set for 22 May 2027. 12 clubs are involved this season. Neftchi Baku recorded the widest margin so far, beating Araz-Naxcivan 5:0. Nothing separates the top two: Neftchi Baku and Sabah both have 15 points. Sabah and Qarabag are still unbeaten. Sabah have the tightest defence, conceding only 1. So far this season 34 matches have been completed. The scoring rate stands at 2.50 goals per match. Home advantage matters: 53% of matches ended in a home win. One club goes down when the season ends.
