FA Cup 2026: table, fixtures and results

The FA Cup, officially the Football Association Challenge Cup, is England's main knockout competition and the oldest national football tournament in the world. It is organised by the Football Association and is open to hundreds of clubs, from village and non-league sides in the qualifying rounds to the giants of the Premier League.

Ties are drawn at random with no seeding, which is why lower-division clubs regularly get the chance to face the biggest names. Premier League and Championship clubs enter at the third round, traditionally played in early January. From the first round proper every tie is decided on the day, with extra time and penalties if needed, while replays survive only in the qualifying rounds. The semi-finals and the final are played at Wembley Stadium, and the winners earn a place in the UEFA Europa League.
