UEFA Nations League 2026: table, fixtures and results

The UEFA Nations League is a competition for the men's national teams of UEFA's member associations. It was created to replace most international friendlies with competitive matches between sides of similar strength, and it is played every two years in the international windows, alongside the European Championship and World Cup cycles.

Teams are split by ranking into four leagues, A to D, and each league is divided into small groups played home and away in the autumn. Group winners in the lower leagues are promoted and the bottom sides are relegated, with extra promotion and relegation play-offs between leagues. In League A the best teams of each group move on to two-legged quarter-finals, and the four winners meet in the finals: two semi-finals, a third-place match and the final, which decides the Nations League champion. Results can also open a second route into the qualifying play-offs for major tournaments.
