Major League Soccer 2026: table, fixtures and results

Major League Soccer (MLS) is the top professional football league in the United States and Canada. Its 30 clubs are split into the Eastern and Western conferences. Unlike most leagues around the world, MLS operates as a closed league of franchises, so there is no promotion or relegation.

The campaign has two parts. In the regular season clubs play a long schedule of home and away matches, mostly against opponents from their own conference, and the team with the best overall record wins the Supporters' Shield. The leading sides in each conference then go into the MLS Cup play-offs, a knock-out bracket that ends with the MLS Cup final, where the league champion is crowned. Places in the CONCACAF Champions Cup are awarded through the league and its related cup competitions.
